Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa

Occupying a lush hillside that overlooks San Francisco Bay, Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa offers 63 guest rooms in several different architectural styles. The older part of the hotel dates back to 1885, converted from the original Victorian gingerbread mansion that was built on the site. The newer portion was constructed a century afterwards, when 16 guest cottages and casitas were added on terraces below the main house. Connecting the various lodgings is a series of stairs and brick-paved walkways.

The latest round of renovations occurred in 2003, as an adjoining three-story building was made over for contemporary-style hotel use. Today, guests can choose from among Victorian Queen Rooms, Courtyard King Rooms, two types of Bayview Rooms, rustic Cottages, and Deluxe Harborview King Rooms. All come with luxurious bathrooms and plush bedding.

Also on the premises is a world-class spa facility, providing a full menu of rejuvenating body therapies, facials, massages, and hand and nail treatments from 9am to 8pm daily. For meetings and other functions, the hotel has some 5,000 square feet of flexible event space, too. The Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa is located at 801 Bridgeway, Sausalito, California 94965. Valet parking is available at a rate of $24 per night.
