Crowley Lake

Crowley Lake, surrounded by the Inyo National Forest, is located off Highway 395. It is 12 miles southeast of the town of Mammoth Lake and 25 miles north of Bishop. The man-made reservoir's primary function is to store the snow and rain water from the Eastern Sierras and supply water and power to Los Angeles.

Crowley is well-known in the western part of the U.S. for the large and feisty trout it consistently produces, and the lake hosts several fishing tournaments every year.

In addition to the beautiful surroundings of the Eastern Sierras and trout fishing, Crowley has seen an increase in other various water sports such as kayaking, kite surfing, wake boarding and water skiing.

Crowley Lake Fish Camp is the only service establishment in the area and all visitors must access the lake via the Fish Camp. It offers a full-service marina, RV and camping sites; a tackle shop and a convenience store. The store is only open during fishing season; from the end of April through the end of October.

Crowley Lake just off of Highway 395 is a 5 hour drive east from San Francisco, 5 ½ hour drive northeast of Los Angeles and a 3 hour drive south of Lake Tahoe.
