Nut Tree Family Park

Located just off Interstate 80, two miles east of Vacaville, Nut Tree Family Park is known for being California's first major road stop.

Established in 1920 by the Power family as a fruit stand, the Nut Tree Family Park featured an interesting array of offerings, from western California fare and dried fruit to a miniature train ride and a local airport. With such a well-traveled location along the freeway between San Francisco and Sacramento, the park eventually hosted numerous celebrities, government officials, and even royalty.

The Nut Tree Family Park has reopened recently with a new look and a new mix of retail, dining, and service establishments. It also includes the Nut Tree Plaza, which was designed specifically for children. The anchor stores at the Nut Tree Family Park include Best Buy, HomeGoods, and Old Navy. Visitors also have a variety of dining and entertainment options.

By car, Lagoon Valley/Pena Adobe Regional Park is located 45 minutes southwest of Sacramento International Airport. While there, tourists can visit downtown Vacaville, a former stage stop for the Pony Express and less than a 5-minute drive away. There they can shop at the Vacaville Premium Outlets, visit the historic Vacaville museum, or enjoy the Vacaville Performing Arts Theatre.
