Pier at Oceanside

The Pier at Oceanside or Oceanside Pier is located at Oceanside Beach in Oceanside, California. It is a historic pier and one of the longest wooden piers to still survive on the West Coast. It has a length of 1,942 feet. The pier was opened in 1987 as the city's 6th pier. It was the fifth to be built on that particular spot at Third Street. There are plenty of attractions located near the pier such as Ruby's Diner for a quick but decent meal. Fishing from the pier is allowed or guests can just stroll about the pier and end up at Oceanside Harbor.

Oceanside Harbor is the marina that is the northwest border for the city. Oceanside the pier and marina are home to Camp Pendleton United States Marine Corps. Camp Pendleton sits on 125,000 acres and 17 miles of coastline. It is a land buffer between San Diego and Los Angeles County. It is part of the 1st Marine Division with more than 38,000 active military personnel.

Close to the Pier at Oceanside is the historic Mission San Luis Rey. It is also four miles from Carlsbad, which offers Legoland. For commuting, Amtrak and the Coaster Commuter Trains are available.
