Smoke Tree Stables

Family owned and operated for more than 60 years, Smoke Tree Stables offers some 150 miles of convenient trail riding just a few miles south of Palm Springs Airport. Traveling on horseback through unpopulated desert landscape near famous Indian Canyons can offer solitude and a perfect escape from the hectic pace of life for hours on end.

Smoke Tree Stables specializes in guided rides by the hour or the entire day. One-hour excursions leave every hour between 8am and 4pm daily, following the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains; the cost is $50 per person. Two-hour outings priced at $90 each take a more scenic route through the native palms and streams of the Aqua Caliente Indian Reservation.

Private guided rides are also available by prior arrangement, including custom-designed group packages with picnic lunches or western cookouts and entertainment. For those who wish to stay overnight, Smoke Tree Stables have exclusive accommodations starting at $359 per night.

Smoke Tree Stables is located at 2500 Toledo Avenue, Palm Springs, California 92264. Reservations are not required for the one- and two-hour guided trail rides. Those wishing to join in should simply arrive at the stables 15 minutes prior to the ride they want to join.
