Sonoma Valley Museum of Art

Established to be a magnet of creative energy and a source of cultural inspiration, the nonprofit Sonoma Valley Museum of Art (SVMA) is the most visited museum of art in Sonoma County. It features a continuous series of exhibitions and educational programs, encouraging innovation and curiosity while engaging the local community in current art and new ideas.

Ever-changing exhibitions in the 3,000-square-foot main gallery include displays of paintings, drawings, photography, ceramics, architecture, design, sculpture, print-making, film, video, and crafts. The museum's recently opened LaHaye Sculpture Gallery offers a rotating series of large-scale sculptures, and there are several smaller galleries for single-artist showings, too.

The entire facility has a maximum capacity for 225 visitors, making it a much sought-after venue for business functions, meetings, presentations, dinners, and private cocktail receptions. Fundraising, auctions, and political events, however, are prohibited.

The Sonoma Valley Museum of Art is located at 551 Broadway, Sonoma, California 95476. When exhibitions are scheduled, the museum is open to the public from 11am to 5pm on Wednesday through Sunday. The cost admission is $5 for individuals and $8 for families. SVMA members are admitted free of charge and receive a number of other benefits, such as invitations to exclusive previews.
