Address: 18001 Yorba Linda Blvd.

Description: Southern California is home to two presidential libraries, the Reagan Library in Simi Valley and the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace in Yorba Linda. The nine-acre complex is the only presidential library in the United States that was built and maintained exclusively through private funds. What makes it even more interesting is that President Nixon’s fully restored birthplace, which was also his childhood home, is still positioned in its original place and was built by the president’s father a year before his birth. Nearby are the flower-circlet memorial sites of both the President and Mrs. Nixon. The library itself has been described as a 52,000-square-foot, three-dimensional walk-through memoir featuring 22 state-of-the-art galleries, movie and interactive video theaters, and a First Lady’s Garden. The museum also hosts a number of special events and speaker forums throughout the year.
