Following graduation from U.C.L.A. and Creighton University School of Dentistry, Dr. Hurd established his solo general dental practice in 1977. He and his wife continue to live in the beautiful Lompoc Valley where they raised their five children. The Central Coast is such a special place to raise a family considering its mild, invigorating climate and abundant open spaces for exploration, as well as the richness of its California history.
Dr. Hurd provides full-service dentistry for patients as young as four and as old as ninety-something. For the last twenty-five of his thirty-one years of dental practice in Lompoc, he has chosen to place composite resin filling materials (white fillings that bond to the tooth), or porcelain or gold, but not mercury-silver-tin amalgam in his patients' teeth.
Dental modalities include root canals, extractions, crowns, veneers, bridges, implant restorations, and removable partials. Tooth whitening is offered for patients following the completion of their restorative treatment. Whitening is free during Invisalign® treatment which is now available for patients who prefer to straighten their teeth nearly-invisibly. Further, Dr. Hurd and his long-term office staff, combined, represent over 125 years of dental experience!
Wellness is based on quality care, and that is what is given by Dr. Hurd and his staff. Unique needs of each patient are addressed through personal treatment plans. The progress of each plan is scheduled with the individual’s time and budget constraints in mind.
