Is the Ford Island airfield really operational or not? Some websites state specifically that it was deactivated in 1999. Others, such as yours, say it is still operational. From a Google Map satellite shot, it seems that the paved runway is gone and has been turned into grassy parkland. What's the scoop? (Just nostalgia. Back in the 1970s, I was flying a Piper Cub and American Yankee out of an FBO at Honolulu International and enjoyed shooting touch-and-goes at Fort Island with carriers, subs, etc., passing underneath. Some of the best memories of my life. It's sad if no one can enjoy that any more.)
