Remarks: EXACT DATE UNKN, JUST MO/YR. MY STUDENT WAS FLYING A PRACTICE ILS APCH. I SAW LRG BIRD, LIKE EAGLE OR HAWK, I TOOK CONTROL AND BANKED HARD. BIRD HIT RT HORIZ STABIL. DENTED LEADING EDGE. PLANE FLEW NORMALLY. RETD TO HOME BASE. LANDED W/O INCIDENT. REPLACED STABILIZER. NOTIFIED NTSB. DMG LOOKED MINOR FROM COCKPIT BUT I WOULD HAVE LANDED SOONER HAD I SEEN THE RIPPLED SKIN UNDER THE STABILZIER.
