Chaffee Zoological Gardens of Fresno


Chaffee Zoological Gardens of Fresno is open daily from 9am to 4pm in Fresno, California. The zoo is open 364 days a year, closing for the largest holidays of the year. Admission is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children and seniors. As a zoo, visitors will be able to enjoy many animals. For example there are 125 species at the zoo including Aruba Island Rattlesnakes, Chacoan Peccary, Colobus, Cinereous Vulture, Fennec Fox, Malayan Tiger, and Malayan Tapir. They also have monkeys like the Red Ruffed Lemur, and Ring Tailed Lemur. A few big cats and a red wolf pack can also be seen at Chaffee Zoological Gardens.

The zoo offers plenty of onsite and offsite education programs for students and adults. For example, they have a zoo school, junior university, habitats lab, zoo talks, docent led tours, rain forest tours, and much more. The zoo programs will vary in cost, based on the choice one makes. For instance, the junior university offers a four day program for $1100. Math and science are taught to the students, as well as habitat protection. The idea of these programs is to get visitors educated, and possibly help them choose a career path.
