Gardens of the World

Gardens of the World is located at Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks, California is approximately 45 miles from Los Angeles International Airport. The gardens are open Tuesday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm but remain closed on Mondays, most national holidays and during inclement weather. Visitors can learn more about the gardens, plants and cultures on the 45 minute guided tours offered during opening hours.

The gardens here represent different cultures from around the world including Japanese, French, Italian and English. There is also an authentic American bandstand that stages concerts for audiences sat on the grassy amphitheater. The French garden features an impressive cascading waterfall, which is one of the main attractions of the park.

The early history of California is interpreted in the Mission Courtyard, where there are colourful hand painted murals and a Spanish fountain. Plenty of pretty, scented flowers can be found here too including roses in the English garden. Periodically the gardens host various art exhibitions as well as charity events, but they cannot be hired for private parties or weddings. However, the park also has a picnic area with tables and benches for anyone wishing to bring their lunch along.
