Great American Melodrama and Vaudeville

Great American Melodrama and Vaudeville is a theater located at Front Street in Oceano, California and is approximately 90 minutes drive from Santa Barbara. The theater presents productions of classic comedies, musicals and melodramas with professional performers from all over the United States. Performances are generally at 7pm each day, except for matinees performances on some Thursdays which take place at 2pm.

Guests can watch the performances at cabaret tables with sawdust on the floor and the sounds of a honky-tonk piano in the background. Some of the shows staged here in the past have included The Nerd, Under the Boardwalk, Rip Van Winkle and Scary Poppins. Tickets can be purchased from the box office which opens from 11am to 6pm Tuesday to Saturday and 12noon to 5pm on Sundays.

The in house pub opens 30 minutes before showtime and enables audience members to enjoy snacks, sandwiches and hot food as well as beers, wine, soft drinks and coffee. During the summer a performing arts workshops for children aged between 7 and 17 is held here. Participants learn creative dramatics, stage movement, improvisation, singing and musical interpretation, dance, stage crafts and other theater related topics from working professionals.
