Huntington Central Park


Occupying some 356 acres of land, Huntington Central Park is the largest city-owned park in Orange County, well suited to all kinds of recreation. It features spacious fields of open grass, well developed picnic areas with fire rings, and landscaping that involves extensive use of trees and flowering plants. The park's paved paths are conducive to biking, jogging, and simply strolling along to enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.

As a venue for outdoor activities, Huntington Central Park is constantly busy. Events are held all year round and for all ages, such as dog and car shows in the summer, cross-country racing in the fall, and horse jumping in the spring. According to the local birding community, bird watching here is excellent, too,

Among the many permanent facilities found at Huntington Central Park are an equestrian center, campgrounds, four playgrounds, the Shipley nature center, a fishing area, a disc golf course, and a horseshoe pit. There are also lakes, trails, a dog park, an amphitheater, an exercise course, and four restaurants. The largest children's library west of the Mississippi can also be found here.

Huntington Central Park is located at 18381 Goldenwest Street, Huntington Beach, California 92648, with entrances on Edwards, Goldenwest, Gothard, Slater, Talbert, and Ellis streets. There is no fee for admission.
