Kelley House Museum

Full of historic artifacts from the Mendocino Coast, the Kelley House Museum includes a historic house and garden located on acreage with ocean views.

Established in 1972, the museum aims to preserve and educate its guests about the history of the Mendocino Coast. The museum is housed in a historic home built in 1861 by William Kelly, one of Mendocino's founding father. Today it showcases 19th century furniture, maps, photographs, books, oral histories, and other artifacts.

Visitors can take part in a 1.5-hour walking tour of the Mendocino National Historic Preservation District each Saturday at 11:00 a.m. In addition, guests can enjoy history seminars on Sundays at the museum. From June to September, the museum opens from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every day except Wednesday. From October to May, operating hours run from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday through Monday. The Research Office is open Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Kelley House Museum is located a few hours north of San Francisco along the coast of California. It is just 10 minutes south of Fort Bragg. While in Mendocino, tourists can also enjoy the Mendocino Art Center, Temple Kwan Tai Museum, Friendship Park, Point Cabrillo Light Station, Van Damm State Park, Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, and Mendocino Headlands State Park.
