Marina del Rey Beach

The Marina del Rey Beach is a 12-acre lagoon and beach area that is within walking distance of the area hotels. The beach has lifeguards on duty and offers a variety of recreation options like picnic tables and playground equipment. The water has no surf, making it a safe, fun option for families with little kids. Visitors can rent boats from the Marina del Rey Boat Rental shop. They offer kayaks, powerboats, sailboats, jet skis and stand up paddleboards. Boats can be rented for a few hours, or of full and half days at Fisherman's Village. Day trips can also be taken to Catalina island. Activities cruises are also available so boaters can enjoy dinner and dancing, brunch, or a jazz cruise during their visit. In addition to beach activities, visitors to Marina del Rey can enjoy a variety of shopping options in the Abbott Kinney Boulevard District or on Main Street. Abbott Kinney features a variety of urban, eclectic shops and boutiques, as well as a wide variety of galleries. Visitors can enjoy lunch or dinner at a variety of cafes or wine bars. Main Street offers a variety of unique shops that sell items ranging from surf gear to jewelry and Mexican folk art. About three miles from Marina is Santa Monica, which offers a variety of other shopping areas. The Villa Marina Marketplace offers 70 stores and dining options, as well as a movie theatre. The shopping center is outdoors and features a 24-hour supermarket and pharmacy.
