Mars-Venus Institute

Many people have heard of the book Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus, but fewer people know there is an institute in California that offers training in author John Gray's methods of couple's communication. The workshops at the center are run by licensed facilitators, trained in providing relationship counseling, personal healing guidance, parenting workshops, and individual counseling, all based on Gray's work and research. Unlike outdated methods of communicating in relationships, Gray's methods teach how to recognize gender and relationship roles and how to communicate in a modern, healthy manner. The workshops offered at the center are interactive and fun, and definitely not geared only toward women. The goal of the center is to make men feel just as welcome as women, so they will be open to learning and sharing. The center was established in 1996 in an effort to improve relationship communication. Gray's books have sold more than 50 million copies, so it was obvious there was a need to help people learn the art of communication. Following the success of his book, Gray had a desire to meet and work with the people who were struggling to communicate with their spouse or significant other in a healthy manner. From this desire, the Institute was born. Classes include video lectures by Gray, followed by exercises and group discussions that focus on improving communication, going on a date, understanding differences, parenting, starting over and communication between men and women in the work place.
