Moabi Regional Park is actually 11 miles to the southeast of Needles, California. Moabi Regional Park runs along the Colorado River, where visitors can fish, camp, boat, swim, or water ski. The park facilities include hot showers, restrooms, grills, marina, marina store, fire rings, picnic tables, and shelters. There are equestrian trails, softball, volleyball, basketball, and horseshoe pits. There is also a putting green, swimming, boating, and playground.
Moabi Regional Park is established at the old Fort Mojave and Mojave Valley region. The Colorado River was used in 1859 to offer safe passage to emigrants. Now, the area is mostly cement sidewalks, irrigation ditches, and old parade grounds that have been reconditioned to create a nice family park. To the east are the Black Mountains, which offer a boundary for the valley and park. Besides Moabi Regional Park there is the Colorado River for water skiing and white water rafting further up and away from Needles.
Tours of Topock Gorge are provided in the area. The gorge is one of the more beautiful locations near the regional park. Entry into the park is free and it is open 24/7, with maintenance from Needle City Management.
