Mt. Livermore or Mount Livermore is located in Tiburon Marin County, California, which means it is on Angel Island State Park. To hike Mount Livermore visitors can drive to Belvedere Tiburon and hike the Mount Livermore Trail. The trail is 5.06 miles round trip and takes at least three hours. The trail is mostly fire road and pavement set up in a loop, which makes it a moderate hike. Highlights of the trail include the bay views, eucalyptus groves, ruins, and beaches. There is an elevation gain of 1,538 feet.
The hike goes up the main road, crosses the perimeter road, and then continues up the mountain. There are several switchbacks and areas of poison oak. The hike goes up the north face, wrapping around the south face. On the south side views of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge are possible. There is a lookout at the top of the mountain for visitors to see the entire bay. For those who wish it there is a trail that goes to quarry beach and the picnic grounds, where there are views of Berkeley and Oakland. The Island is only reached by ferry from 10am to 5pm, sometimes earlier depending on the day.
