Napa Valley Opera House


Napa Valley Opera House was constructed in 1879 and is now considered a historical landmark on the national level. It has been a place in Napa, Napa Valley, California for the performing arts for several decades, as the 500 seat Margrit Biever Mondavi Theater. It was restored in 2002 after 30 years of planning to make the theater come alive again as a performing arts center. Patrons can visit to see dance, comedy, jazz, world music, family programming, and theater performances. Their mission statement is to offer a cultural experience within a diverse community with distinctive shows.

The box office is open Monday through Friday 10am to 5pm, Saturday 12pm to 4pm and 60 minutes before any performance. Some of the past performances at the Napa Valley Opera House have included an Evening with the Backstreet Boys, A Chorus Line, Elvis Costello Solo, Lucky Penny, Pat Metheny, and the Monterey Jazz Festival on Tour. Shows that will be coming within 2010 include the Grand Masquerade Ball with Quartetto Gelato, Dance Party with Pop Rocks, Oh, Mr. Sousa, Talk Cinema Napa Valley, Garage Band 101, and Napa Valley Film Festival Launch Celebration. Each year the opera house tries to have everything, from contemporary pieces to the classics.
