The Nature Center at Happy Isles offers a place for the whole family to find education about Yosemite National Park, California. The nature center offers history exhibits based on wildlife. It has interactive displays to help keep children focused, as well as to teach them what some of nature feels like. It would be rare to be able to touch animal skins and other items any other way except at the Happy Isles Nature Center. As part of the nature center there are trails. Four different environments such as forest, talus, fen, and river are shown on these trails.
Another interesting fact about the trails is the evidence one can see left behind from a 1996 rock fall that started at Glacier Point Cliff, which is far above the nature center. To reach the center one can arrive by car or take the Happy Isles shuttle bus from May to September. The center is at Center of Curry Village Loop. One important exhibit is the geological history of some of the big rocks, like El Capitan and Glacier Point. Yosemite was formed like much of the other national parks, with volcanic activity.
