Paramount Studios - Los Angeles, California - Location for Hollywood TV and Movie Productions

As a working location for commercials, television shows and motion pictures, the Studios at Paramount, also known as Paramount Studios, have long been a leader in the film industry. The sets here have been home to innumerable productions for the big and small screens, hosting renowned directors from Cecil B. DeMille and Alfred Hitchcock to Steven Spielberg, as well as a fascinating array of stars, including Rudolf Valentino, Mae West, the Marx Brothers, Elvis Presley and Audrey Hepburn in earlier years and more recently Harrison Ford, Meryl Streep, Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie, and more.

First opened in 1912, the Studios at Paramount are the longest operating and only major studio remaining in Hollywood. This is not only where Academy Award-winning movies like "Titanic'' (1997) were shot, but also such iconic TV classics as "I Love Lucy,'' "Star Trek,'' "The Brady Bunch,'' "Mission: Impossible,'' "Taxi,'' "Happy Days,'' "Cheers,'' and "Frasier.''

Today, the Studios at Paramount are available for partnering in the development of new projects beyond the scope of Paramount Pictures own releases. When producers, directors, and stars need locations to turn visions into entertainment, the 65-acre property can accommodate just about anything that can be dreamt up. It contains not only some of filmdom's biggest stages, but also lot locations that can be transformed to represent virtually any part of the world.

There are thirty different digital stages here, including a dozen of more than 12,000 square feet, ten that are audience rated, and eight with orchestra pits. Sixteen stages are over 35 feet tall. All stages are provided with wireless networking and Internet access, wardrobe cages, secured set dycor and prop storage, and ample mill area. Among the lot locations available are scenic parks, stylish theaters, various architectural structures, shops and facades, a B-tank for water scenes, and a New York street set that also serves as a back lot.

For production support, Paramount Studios offer every service needed to keep a project running smoothly and on budget. Readily available are lighting services, state-of-the-art technology, and logistical aids that can help streamline the production process. Art and post-production services are available, too.

Besides being a great venue for filming, Paramount Studios is also a perfect location for events. In fact, this production lot hosts more gatherings than any other studio, from award shows and movie premieres to receptions, parties and corporate events. An experienced event staff and a 5-star catering service are available, along with staging, rentals and entertainment bookings.

For those interested in sightseeing or a sneak peek behind the scenes of hit movies and TV shows, small-group VIP tours are available. These guided excursions give visitors an opportunity to walk in the footsteps of legends and see where some of the most celebrated motion pictures in film history were made. Led by knowledgeable guides, each tour lasts two hours. They depart at 10am, 11am, 1pm and 2pm every Monday through Friday, except holidays. Advance reservations are required.

The Studios at Paramount are located at 5555 Melrose Avenue, Hollywood, California 90038. From the 101 Freeway, take the La Brea Avenue exit north to Melrose Avenue. Head west on Melrose and then turn right at the Windsor Street Gate (immediately after Western Avenue). Ample parking is available on the lot.
