Pleasure Point Beach

Pleasure Point Beach is one of the most well-loved beaches in Santa Cruz. Pleasure Point has been a popular destination since before California was a part of the United States. The area was named Pleasure Point during the Prohibition period when a number of speakeasies were open in the area. The area has also been a long-time popular destination among surfers in the area. Today, the area continues to thrive and beach cottages are being renovated into large homes along the beach. The beach is located on the northern part of Monterey Bay and is filled with surf culture. Surfers come from all over the world to surf at Pleasure Point. Visitors to the area nearly always give it positive reviews. The beach offers a variety of features that are liked by residents of the area and visitors coming to California for the first time. Pleasure Point is dog-friendly and dogs can run off-leash along the shoreline without problem or dispute from other beach-goers. The beach is clean and so is the water. Visitors are allowed to bring beer cans to beach and enjoy parties with friends, but groups are usually laid-back and under control. Best of all, the beach is a great place for surfers of all experience levels and abilities. If you are in search of a beach with a true Southern California surfer vibe, most people will tell you to head to Pleasure Point Beach.
