The Preston Vineyards is an organic family farm in winery in the Dry Creek Valley area of Sonoma County. The winery produces small quantities of wine, focusing on tastes that are high quality and unique. In addition to the vineyard, Preston features olive groves, a garden and a commercial bakery. Visitors are encouraged to shop for organic produce, olive oils and baked goods, all of which can be specially paired with the wines and enjoyed during an afternoon picnic on the grounds. The organic farming and minimalist winemaking practices at the vineyards creates a truly special wine country experience. The soil at the vineyard is the product of filtering and amalgamation of unstable geological materials. The winter rains, east-facing exposure, airflow and shallow hillside create the ideal growing conditions. The vineyard is intersected by the Pena Creek and bordered by Dry Creek. The area is filled with a variety of wildlife including amphibians, birds, bees, insects and vertebrate animals. Guests can visit the tasting room and for $5 can taste for different wines from the Rhone-inspired menu. Those purchasing a bottle of wine will receive a refund of their tasting fee. Wines include Sauvignon Blanc, Madame Preston, Viognier, L. Preston, Syrah-Sirah, Carignane and Zinfandel.
