The Carolee Shields White Flower Garden

The Arboretum at Davis UC Campus offers a number of different areas to enjoy. The park itself is free and has a docent led tour for free. Groups are $8 per person or $5 if they are students. Parking is $6 during the weekdays. As part of the Arboretum there is the Carolee Shields White Flower Garden and Gazebo in Davis, California.

The Carolee Shields display is a theme based on medieval moonlight viewing gardens. These gardens were typically found in India and Japan, though they did work their way to Europe and England before coming to the US. This garden has a vine covered gazebo, as well as a curving path framed by various trees and plants.

The reason the white garden is chosen as a topic is its popularity as a wedding venue. It also houses other events throughout the year. The plants offer fragrant flowers along with pale flowers, which stand out in the moonlight. The garden was named for Carolee Shields who was a gardener. She was also the wife of Judge Peter Shields, a founder for UC Davis Campus. Visitors can tour the garden throughout the day or night to enjoy its scenery.
