Torrance State Beach


Torrance State Beach, located at the end of Redondo Beach, California is a popular stretch of beach with locals and tourists. Torrance state beach offers great views of the Pacific Ocean and has plenty of facilities such as restrooms and play areas for children. The beach is popular with surfers and beach volleyball players as are the majority of beaches in Redondo Beach. A typical day in and around Torrance State Beach will see many people out rollerblading, walking, riding bikes and generally enjoying the Southern California weather. Many television series and movies have been filmed in the area including 25, Dexter, The O.C., CSI Miami, Even Steven's, and Star Trek. Movies filmed near the area include Point Break, Men at Work, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Pulp Fiction.

The beach is popular year round with peak times being in the late spring and summer. Professional surfing and volleyball events are held near on the shores of Torrance State Beach. Camping is not allowed at the location. Other activities that are popular at the beach are exploring the tide pools and hiking on the numerous trails. The hiking trails are beginner level and can be traversed by most people.
