Relocating to Waxhaw, NC area-Need advise

We are ready to retire and have chosen the North or South Carolina area as our son and his family live near Charlotte, NC. We are looking at Waxhaw or Indian Land in those areas. We are appreciative of any advise. We are active seniors and want to be in an area where there are things to do. Thank you for any help.

We are thinking about purchasing a home in Sun City located in Indian Land, SC. Looking for comments as to whether or not this is a good move. Thank you in advance for your input.
