An Unplanned Thursday Workout

I am an avid hiker and generally try to stay active. The trouble is; I really like pizza. About a month ago it finally dawned on me that hiking just wasn’t enough. If I’m going to eat pizza for dinner on Tuesday and Saturday, then I need to join a fitness center where I can climb onto an elliptical on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and also Sunday morning.

So the last several weeks I’ve been going to the gym where I’ll spend a half hour on an elliptical. I don’t mess around, I go...

One Lady With A Lot of Luck

I’m a lucky girl. That fact has occurred to me before, but it’s never popped into my mind at the same time that my blog has, at least not until now. Anyway, it’s the truth, I’m lucky.

I was born a healthy baby girl in 1985. I spent my first twenty-one years living in Phoenix, Arizona. My mother, father, and even my brother are relatively normal people. There’s never been any need of anger management in the family. There is no insanity. None have a criminal record. Not even my brother...

About My Anxiety Disorder

Posted 07-14-2012 at 05:04 PM by KatieGal
Updated 07-14-2012 at 07:23 PM by KatieGal

I think it began in high school. When I was a senior in high school I had my first anxiety attack. I believe that first attack was the precursor to my overall anxiety disorder. The attack began in the evening and I was alone, both were probably factors that brought it on. I don’t know what specifically provoked it. As I have said in this blog before somewhere; the attack was as though I were awake but in a nightmare. It was horrific. Since it was my first anxiety attack, I didn’t know what was going...

Katie and a Man's Shirt

Posted 07-08-2012 at 08:53 AM by KatieGal
Updated 07-08-2012 at 01:34 PM by KatieGal

No one who reads my idiotic blog actually knows me so I'm going to bare my soul a bit. Anonymity allows such things.

I woke-up on this morning, Sunday morning, and as has been the case for about ten months now, I woke-up alone. Since I am a confirmed romantic, my mind traveled back to a morning about four years ago. At approximately 8AM on that day I awoke alongside a man whom I had been dating for a “sufficient amount of time”, and we would continue in a relationship for...

Katie's Unhurried Thoughts

Posted 07-05-2012 at 08:23 PM by KatieGal
Updated 07-05-2012 at 09:26 PM by KatieGal

I had a pretty full schedule at work today so of course I overslept this morning. Consequently, I started the day scurrying around in a mad rush.

Now, many hours later, it occurs to me that during the course of an ordinary day, there are times when I hurry, and times when I do not. I will hurry to get out of the rain, or to catch an elevator. Sometimes I will hurry to get home just to turn on the TV and see some program that has my interest. Yesterday on my way to the store...
