Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

A few folks told me to do it. No joke. A few fellow City-Data posters encouraged this idea of me starting up a blog page. This was right around 2008. I wouldn't say that this concept was ahead of its time in any way, but such was badly needed on City-Data, where it's great to be alive.

2008. Man, that was some time ago.

Well, it happened to be around that time that this website you and I are in just happened to begin something new, and that's...

Mark Levin Is Spot-On: Everything I've Said About Today's Democrats Is True

Posted 06-27-2023 at 02:28 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

Radio and television host Mark Levin knows how Washington, D.C. works. And it clearly shows in an upcoming new book that's basically his most powerful to date.

More below in this link. I couldn't say it any better.

I'm going to get the book first chance I get. It's just too important.

Well, it's been revealed. And your writer has reveled.

The powers that be who bring you the interstate highway system and it's christening process have informed that Interstate 27 in West Texas will have a mainline route. The auxiliary planned to run from just north of Sterling City, through Midland, and on to Lamesa will be called Interstate 227. Further north, and way into the future, a segment north of Dumas to the Oklahoma State Line will be called Interstate...

Case's Thought For The Day: When You're Really Sure That Things Will Work Out

Posted 06-22-2023 at 03:35 AM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

I guess it's time for your writer to spew out our Thought For The Day, and it's all about being sure of yourself. Embracing the moment is one thing, but knowing where you're at and being ingrained in it, well, that may take on a new meaning.

Here it is below:

It’s Thursday and it really feels like a Thursday. Sometimes things just work out.

And wherever you may be, hopefully, it will.

All Hanked Out? Be Glad THESE Country Artists Didn't Make It

Posted 06-21-2023 at 03:02 AM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

Anyone can listen to old-time country music all day long, and chances are good that you might run into a whole bunch of guys named Hank. Truth is, in the olden days, that's just how the cards played out as country music was starting to come into its own.

It all comes back to the guy I call "The Man Who Wrote The Book", Hank Williams. He really did write the book on country music and honky-tonk fare. Later on, you'd have his offspring, Hank Williams, Jr., ...
