Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

I-69 Update: TXDOT Has An Improved I-69 Website

Posted 05-02-2019 at 07:40 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

A few days ago in Scattershooting, I alluded to a website that hadn't been keeping up much in recent months. I referred to the I-69 Texas Alliance website, but there is another website about the Texas portion of Interstate 69 that one of the Alliance members pointed me out to via e-mail. Oh, yes, I've known about that other site for years, and that one was even worse than the Alliance site in content upkeep.

Until now.

A Cure For Cancer? This Latest Discovery Could Prove True

Posted 04-29-2019 at 03:07 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

We've all waited too many years for a miracle discovery on one of mankind's most deadly diseases, cancer. Different medicines have been tried but have failed. Different methods of treatments, while some have proven some slow success, have not always panned out.

I'm encouraged by an article in this hyperlink. As a matter of fact, this subject has been brought up by a fellow City-Data member, but this certainly is worth sharing.

Welcome back, all, to this lively diversion known as Case's Column, brought to us right here on the greatness that is City-Data, where it's great to be alive. And it's once again time to do a little Scattershooting, where chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, and peach go neatly together, hand in hand. Okay, maybe not necessarily on the same cone, but I digress....

Well, this was going to come sooner or later. As inevitable as...

What I'd Like To See In Oklahoma

Posted 04-17-2019 at 09:27 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)
Updated 04-18-2019 at 04:26 PM by case44

Figures, Case takes to Google Street View once again. Nobody can keep me off of it with a ten-foot (telephone) pole. I had a few thoughts about some Oklahoma highways.

I've seen that they have too many major highways in the countryside which intersect that do not have flashing beacons overhead. They don't even have yellow flashers. Oh, there are some scattered about in different parts of the state, but more often than not, caution is needed in the isolated...

The Masters: Still A Case Tradition, But Will Be Earlier Sunday

Posted 04-13-2019 at 03:38 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

Mother Nature likes to play with people's emotions, doesn't she? Well, that's the scenario which we very well have for Sunday's round of The Masters, taking place at the greatness of Augusta National.

This writer really loves watching The Masters every year. I pick this over any other golf tournament on television, and they've got so much tradition. From the grand music theme by Dave Loggins to the lush green landscapes of Augusta, this is the next thing...
