Has anyone driven cross-country from California to Maryland in late December?



Hi..I'm looking to drive cross-country from California to Maryland in the last week of December. Does anyone know how the drive is like and how the weather will be going through all the states during that time? I've mapped out my travel and looks like it will a grueling 3000+ miles on I10 to I95.

Doesn't it just bite when you get stuck in a rut and can't seem to get out? You know what I mean--same stuff, day-in, day-out. This rut of mine is different though--it's a rut of waiting for the next "change" to happen.
