The start of a transition.....

I found this site by accident... As I was surfing and reading posts and threads, I found that there seems to be alot of people moving to Boston also with the same type of questions that I have.

There seems to be so many things to do when considering a move. Especially when it's a move where everything is new and nothing is the same as you know it.

Iam 35 yrs old, hispanic woman, no kids, born and raised in Texas. I am looking to move to Boston area early 2009. About 6yrs...

Trading properties - Tax advantages, etc?

I need to check and see how to trade properties.

I don't see why this cannot be done legally.

No taxes or capital gains to file?

I have always bartered - it's fun to do and both parties get what they want with no money outlay. Of course, if one property is worth a lot more than the other there will be a cash outlay, but --- not like buying the regular way.

It would certainly be a way for both parties to get what they want and to get it in...

FHA Mortgage Insurance (current rates)

You might be familiar with this term being called "PMI", but on FHA mortgages it's called MI (PMI stands for private mortgage insurance, and FHA's mortgage insurance is provided by the government, not a private party).

With FHA you are charged an upfront mortgage insurance premium (UFMIP) that can be financed into the loan amount (loan amount increases to cover it) and then also a monthly mortgage insurance (MI) amount.
