Discipleship

Posted 06-09-2009 at 09:30 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)
(Read Matthew 3:1-11; 4:17-25; Mark 1:8-18 and 1 Corinthians 1:17-24)

Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came up and spoke to them saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Nowhere in scripture did Jesus tell...

Dog causing problem.

Posted 06-09-2009 at 02:34 PM by dkhuffman
My neighbor has a large dog. This dog has been in fights with other dogs, it has even broke its chain when it was left outside and chased my 12 year old son up my driveway. I have complained to animal control. I have even took them pictures of this dog on my property right after it attacked a puppy. The neighbor is saying it's another dog doing this. How can I get help before this dog hurts someone. And it WILL.

A mother who did not seek medical attention for her daughter but who instead prayed for healing, was convicted of second degree reckless homicide punishable by up to 25 years in jail.

Her case is both sad and also enlightening with respect to how our society deals with persons who have sincere faith in God for something. In this case a healing.

Reading a letter she wrote to local newspapers dealing with the case I see little indication of ungodly negligence, foolishness...

Travels Around North America

Posted 06-09-2009 at 03:57 AM by LookinForMayberry (Travels Around My Head While Touring America)
Updated 06-09-2009 at 04:06 AM by LookinForMayberry
Yesterday morning we were camped outside of Clinton, NJ. The park was a cacophony of birds' songs, and I took my binoculars out after daybreak to see what I could see. Everywhere we go, I discover birds I've never seen before and appreciate the richness they bring to my life. That morning, I'd read a thread a woman wrote about what to do with a bird that had been keeping her up all night with its singing. Her respondents all seemed to think the best thing was for her to scare it off, or kill it....
