A Midsummer Night's Nightmare.......Almost

Posted 08-12-2009 at 09:18 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)
You've heard the phrase, "Now, I've seen everything," haven't you? Well, this C-D poster is about to utter that very phrase now, because he doesn't believe what he currently sees in his apartment right now.

I'm just simply trying to stay cool in my apartment, that's all. Ceiling fans are running. I have a floor fan in my bedroom, and it is running. I've got my AC going..........but there is a problem, boys and girls. The air is running, ...

Avoid Foreclosure Scams

Posted 08-12-2009 at 07:16 PM by byoak (Looking to buy or sell a home in the Philadelphia area?)
Home owners, if you are behind on your mortgage and facing foreclosure please do not respond to any mailings or phone calls you receive stating that they can get you out of your situation. These people work for investors and are only looking out for the investors interest and not yours. I was recently contacted by one of theses attorneys to list a house. When I looked further into it it was a scam to get the seller to sign a contract with them and then all offers went through the investor...

Special Climate Update: Searing Summer 2009!

Posted 08-12-2009 at 03:53 PM by Adam DeSilvester
So far, to this date, we have seen 47 100 plus degree days here in San Antonio, Texas and we are likely to see atleast a few more before conditions start to finally ease up. Just to let you all know, the record for triple digit degree days in San Antonio was 36 set back in 1998! We blew that one away already.

Also, remember that little weather prediction I made this past fall about this summer being dry and warm? Well, turns out I was exactly correct. However, I will admit that I did...

Aizen, Wisdom King of Passion, Fighting Ignorance

Posted 08-12-2009 at 12:33 PM by LookinForMayberry (Travels Around My Head While Touring America)
We visited Boston's MFA yesterday. They have some great Indo-Asian statuary exhibits. I came across this one, my photo below, theirs here. He's a 14th century Japanese Buddhist diety, resolved to conquer ignorance.

Looks like he's failed, darn it.

I start feeling a lot like he looks, when I get frustrated with situations where I THINK I KNOW BETTER.

Boy, am I stupid during those times.

A true wise person knows they know nothing. How can we? Most...

LL Book Review has posted the review of my book, The King, Father & Mother....

Posted 08-12-2009 at 11:30 AM by The Anchorite
Ok, the review is out and I must say I'm pleased with it . After all the work it's finally getting some recognition and readership.

The King, Father, and Mother is reminiscent of Dan Brown’s Angels and Demons, not quite as good as the Davinci Code but still a compelling read. In Eric Rhodes’ book, we follow three men, separate in time but connected by an Irish hillside and a mysterious stone. The first is an ancient monk who inscribes the stone. The second is an injured knight who...
