So this morning I wake up and TG's sister is in the room and telling him a friend of hers wants to talk to him about a job, it was super early and he almost tried to get her friend to talk later but he eventually got up and talked on the phone.

He comes back down and tells me to get up and get ready cause he's got a job interview today, we get ready, he runs around for about 20 minutes in his boxers because he can't find his nice jeans (the friend said jeans were fine for the interview),...

There's nothing that brings a joy to my heart like Bigun when he's being Bigun.

He was "sleeping" here on the opposite side of the sofa, obviously with one eye open, because suddenly he was off like a shot. My sweet little floppy-eared, black beagle was suddenly a hair-raised demon at the window, snarling and snapping at the squirrel on HIS fence.

"Outside with That, Bigun!" and he's OFF. Out the sunroom, I hear his scrambling down the stairs...

Allowing space

ALLOWING SPACE is the title of the Pema Chodron email newsletter sent to me this morning, the first of my (deceased) mother's birthdays that I will experience without her.

Losing a mother IS enormous. It is the biggest thing that can happen, especially to a daughter. There is no one that has been with you longer, or shares your memories, who knows all the dimples on your butt (metaphorically speaking).
