I think God did okay work designing and constructing planet Earth, but He did not do a great job, and God is supposedly great, right? The trouble is; God did not use enough imagination. It was imaginative to come up with the Laws of Physics, and all of the chemical elements. And the creation of life was inspired, but once He got beyond those things, God seemed to run out of motivation.
