Yesterday as I was making the second (successful) attempt to give Bigun his walk WITHOUT getting soaked with rain, I was suddenly overpowered by sadness. Not just melancholy, but a sadness that closed my throat, robbed my breath, and tears just started falling. Immediately, my mind replayed my mother's voice: "Just stop it, Deborah, that's ENOUGH," and by reaction I started to obey. Then, I remembered my teachings from my counselor, my readings from Pema Chodron, the Dalli Lhama, and others....

Snakes and Other Dangerous Things

I am now a Yuma resident, and an avid hiker. During these days of summer I usually head out in the evening a couple of times a week. It can still be about 100 out there, but at least the sun isnít high in the sky, baking me. Anyway, Iím not about to sit inside until autumn.

I often hike alone. Two things worry me about that, especially when Iím hiking some distance. One is venomous snakes. Another concern is my being assaulted out on the trail by a human. I have run into rattlesnakes...

Nancy, your Mom and my Wife and Daughter made the trip to Ashtabula a few days ago, and had a wonderful time up there.
Doris got to meet all the Neices and Nephews, and Great and Great Greats I reckon by now , (no, we wont mention her age at this stage in the game LOL)...

They left out of here about 9:30am and got back about 8:30pm or so, so everyone had a Great Time. I put on FaceBook that I dont do stairs well, nor do I go a long way, with walking yet, so I will have...
