It shows everything that went on from real crimes to "disturbances". NOte that it has no meat in North Las Vegas or Henderson. Metro cops can and do have incidents in those areas though they do not patrol them. Metro is a County force and has jurisdiction everywhere.

Ever wonder why Case Shiller? Well wonder no more. It is just pretty much the same old stuff you get from your local MLS.

Here is a plot of Case Shiller from 1990 versus the Las Vegas MLS data since 2000. This is the average MLS price and the CS index multiplied by the MLS January 2000 price. This is probably not the best match available but it seems sufficient. Delaying CS 45 days and dropping the base value a little would make an even better match.

Here are a couple of charts showing the short term behavior of the Las Vegas REO market.

The first shows the Inventory of available REO single family residences listed in the MLS and the number sold in the last 30 days. Note that this statistic requires a week or ten days to fully stablize. Basically the sales trickle in over a period of time rather than appearing on day one.
