1.What is the real lowdown on snakes? Bugs I can handle, but last night I started looking up snakes in the area and was overwhelmed by what I found. How often, in reality, do you run across snakes and how large are they? I don't plan on gardening myself and have 2 large dogs so the yard will be kept really low, etc...of course the usual deflections but please, PLEASE give me the real low down on the snake issue. Would my cat be safe? We don't have large snakes here so I am still learning how to...

Sarasota County Pet Friendly Parks

Here are parks located in Sarasota County that allow pets.

Beach Park
Bird Key Park - on John Ringling Causeway (on the way to St. Armand's Circle, just east of the bridge) is Sarasota's only beach allowing dogs and cats.
Brohard Park & Dog Beach - Venice-off leash is OK

Since I seem to be getting this same type of question a lot I thought others may have the same question. Here’s an example of a few emails I’ve gotten lately.

I’ve been searching the web and many websites say, “Buyers Broker”. I want to use you as my Realtor but you don’t say that on your website. Can you represent me and be a “buyer’s broker”?

Anna Maria Island Real Estate

Anna Maria is a very laid back sleepy beach town and is one of the few towns that still has the "Old Florida" feel to it. I used to live out that way when I was a kid and my father started the Islander Newspaper, which was the first newspaper for Anna Maria Island. As a kid I attended Anna Maria Elementary and have fond memories of the school.
