Today I found out a good friend's dad died suddenly...I cried for her because I know how close she was to him. I did not know what to say only asked how her mom was taking it. They were a very cute couple. I just hugged my hubby and my kiddos when I picked them up from school. Go hug your loved ones too.........

Today I took my kiddos out to play at a favorite fast food place that has had power up for a week so it was safe to eat there. They played and I chatted with my buddies. Next door I noticed another mother and just asked her about her power--no, not up yet! UGH!!! I felt so bad for her. She is just hanging out there in the a/c for a while before heading back to her hot house. I also called my good friend who also does not have power yet. I wish my home was big enough and they could all come home...

We were affected by Hurricane Ike...We had a home with no power from Friday 9 pm to yesterday 5 pm! Just the little things we take for granted were impossible...
Have the first cup of coffee in the morning, oops, no power!!!!!!!!
Throw food down the disposal, oops, no power!!!!!!!!
Make a call on the cellular but phone not charged, oops, no power!!!!!!!!
wash a load of laundry, oops, no power!!!!!!!!
Sit on your couch without sweating because oops, no power!!!!!!!!...

Today my oldest child started Kindergarten! It was bittersweet for me. Bitter because I missed her terribly all day. Sweet because I know she is having new experiences, meeting new friends, learning so much more. These past 5 years just flew by! I can't imagine how fast it will go from here!

I thought I'd write a list of my weekend's accomplishments, though little to others, they are huge to me:
I ironed out what I thought was a misunderstanding with a friend, so now I still have a friend.
I made my kiddos SMILE so big that I thought their little mouths would hurt.
I made my hubby so happy with some great new clothes; it had been a LONG time since he got new clothes!
I am smiling knowing that I accomplished all the above!
