if old aprons could talk

I found two old aprons today, got them washed up and was ironing them in preparation to send to DD, or grandgirlie to play with. I got to thinking, what if they could talk?
I know one goes back to the depression era. It would tell me about my grandma, who wore it while cooking on her woodstove, in her little house up in east Tennessee. It would tell of the simple, yet hardy foods they grew, gathered and ate; pole beans, corn, 'maters, poke salat, wild blackberries,fatback and lard biscuits.The...

Velveteen Rabbit: Margery Williams..my becoming Real

This is my absolute favorite book of all time. One of me peeps mentioned having this book for her wee ones and I've had it in the back of me mind since reading that comment...
I would like to encourage everyone to read this timeless classic...and again if you already have read it. No you aren't too old! Children's book have messages in them that appeal to EVERYONE!!
Guess what, you can even find Velveteen Rabbit online to read....how easy is that!

chicken or the egg

I was wondering the other day, when did prices get so high, or rather, what factors that led to costs increasing. Kind of which came first, the chicken or the egg. I was never really good at economic stuff.

Did higher wages come first, so to keep up with demands of more money to spend, the prices went up too?

Or did the price of stuff go up, thereby resulting in wages having to go up.

Like, cows are still milked from 4 teats, or are they 2 teat models now...
