My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego | List of Best Posts
This blog is where I express myself to the world or at least to those who might stop by to read what I post . Maybe God will use what I post (I am a Christian and this blog will have a most decidedly Christian bent to it) to good effect in the lives of my readers.

I may turn some of my posts into a book. I may cease blogging here altogether. Who knows. But for now..I am content to post away in this, my own little corner of the world.

Rather than reading through my now lengthy list of posts you may wish to read what I consider to be my very best posts or you can just read the posts that deal with a single subject category that might interest you.

Please know that I am open to any input on any topic I write about. If you have something to say about anything you see written here please....feel free to speak up in the form of leaving a comment or sending me a PM (private message).

And if you are in San Diego and wish to meet the one and only Carlos (that's me )...drop me a private message. I always enjoy meeting one of my readers!

Thanks.

Carlos

PS. If you want to follow my blog such that you will get an email when I write new posts you can subscribe to my blog.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place and the hocus pocus nature of "modern" medicine!

I've been doing some medical research today. Yes, that's right. Me...a poor non-medically trained individual living in a trailer who owns no car and barely has enough to get around by bus...doing medical research.

Imagine that!

And what I am finding is not pretty. Not pretty at all.

Modern medical science is still too much hocus pocus and guessing. Especially when it comes to things like knee problems that have a myriad of possible reasons for it's...

The United Nations emails me this morning to advise me against contact with unauthorized individuals in Nigeria!

Yes folks. That's right.

The United Nations contacted me through email this morning.

More specifically the OFFICE OF THE CHAIRMAN (JOINT MONITORING UNIT ON FOREIGN CONTRACT PAYMENT).

Sounds pretty official.

Even the United Nations it seems is not beyond being being cold and insensitive in that they did not wish me good health or anything (don't they read my blog??).

Of course they were gracious enough to warn me against...

A most hilarious thing happened to me on the way to the hospital!

Posted 06-20-2009 at 12:53 PM by carlos123 (My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego)

I don't like to just focus on solely the negative aspects of my hospital stay last night so I wanted to highlight something that happened to me that I found incredibly funny to bring balance to my otherwise negative recent posts.

After getting to the first clinic they basically said there was no guarantee of being able to see a doctor as a walk-in (their appointments had been full that day) so I made a choice to head straight to the hospital since, even if I had seen a doctor, they...

I wake up with a greatly improved knee and leg but I can't explain it!

I woke up this morning still angry at how a major hospital through the collective will of it's combined personnel could have turned me out into the street last night at 1:30 AM with no place to sleep or no place to go. Without even so little as some pain killers to keep the pain at bay for even just last night!!

That's insane!

If I had not insisted and put my foot down and pushed the fact that I had been assured by one of their doctors that such a thing would not happen...

Is this what it means to get medical care in the U.S.!?

Posted 06-20-2009 at 03:55 AM by carlos123 (My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego)

Be forewarned that this post is not going to be pretty. I am rather perturbed.

While there were a number of things that happened to me today that are to be commended in how some others treated me, overall my experience was less than satisfactory to say the least.

I have just arrived home from the hospital. It's 1:30 AM (or thereabouts). My one knee is swollen worse than when I set out on my round of doctor and hospital visits today. Mainly due to one doctor poking...
