Motorcycle Group Rides: Grrr....

Posted 07-10-2020 at 10:34 AM by Blondebaerde

Thirty three years of riding on the street, couple of those also on woods/trails, and three during when I was mostly OFF the street road racing a sportbike with AFM in California. Dozens of track days, track marshal in the late 1990s and early 2000s both here (WA State) and in CA. I've owned 13 bikes, though currently "none" for the first time since 1987.

....And I wouldn't go on a "group ride" with people I don't know well under any circumstances, that's where...

Posted 06-12-2020 at 11:02 PM by Blondebaerde

Here's an interesting story I think was a tolerable compromise to the Confederate Flag in public places problem. I am also uneasy at the thought of Confederate monuments. That conflict was a hobby of mine, rather casual, since "Gettysburg" (masterpiece film, based on "the Killer Angels" by Jeff Shaara) came out in 1993. Their motives all came back to slavery, one way or another, their "peculiar institution". Slavery that backed a decrepit and inefficient economic...

Roadblocks: Suppressors and Short Barreled Rifles

Posted 06-01-2020 at 10:43 PM by Blondebaerde

Speaking from WA State: suppressors are legal, as are short barreled rifles (SBRs). Class III (full auto), not at this time.

I'm irritated the Feds and States (some of them) erect BS laws, fees, and waiting periods that are not necessary. My recent acquisition story is below. Better as a blog post, the topic is a rant (though interesting RE state of "government" these days stopping you from exercising rights). Here we go:

COVID-19: Personal Update 2020-04-11 From Kirkland WA

Posted 04-11-2020 at 11:39 AM by Blondebaerde

CORONAVIRUS

A deadly new virus from China, which causes respiratory illness and pneumonia, is spreading around the world. CDC calls it COVID-19. I live in Kirkland, WA, about two miles due south of the outbreak's original United States epicenter, with multiple cases and the first substantial deaths.

(Caveat: one man, one IT worker, one opinion: I have no extra info over and above, one commentary only.)

Interesting question posted to my neighborhood's...
