Just came across a new one (I think) on Whiteface Mountain in NY. So figured I start making a list.

EVERYONE should have alerts sent to their phones. I would use one of these below or an addition to that. They send one as soon as NWS issues it and don't flood you with alerts like some news stations do.

All you need is a phone number and a cell phone capable of texting(which most do nowadays)

The Weather Channel Text Alerts was my favorite and the best until they dropped Sprint. I haven't check back in a couple years but looks like the whole process seems more time...

I learned never say can't or never with weather.

These Early Fall leaf snowstorms are happening more recently..but for 1 area to get hit all the time is rare..

South Dakota got their share in 2014 when an Early September snowstorm hit with leaves on the trees. Widespread damage and power outages happened.

Calgary End of September 2014, took weeks to clean up....
