I have a check which is presented to the collection agency, it was issued against an agreement that is Disputed.
I want to tell the collection agency to pursue it in the court. My question is

Can the collection agency just report it to credit Bureo and destry my ratings, instead of going to the court.

How can I safeguard my ratings, in the mean time that they go to the court.
