Found awesome job in Martinburg WV, where should I live?

Please offer advise, My family is moving from PA to Martinburg, WV for a new job. I have two small children (pre-school age). I am looking for a house for rent in a nice safe neighborhood, with good schools. I drove through Martinburg this weekend not to impressed what else is in close proximity no more that half hour away. How about Winchester, VA? Thanks for all your Help!!
