Life in Idaho County, Idaho

Posted 11-28-2009 at 12:54 AM by bammie21
I have been doing much reflection of the events that inundated our lives from Feb 20 to May 6 2009 (and, to a lighter extent, beyond).
I have come to the conclusion that there are many good people in Idaho County, but there are way too many that only think of material things and to those, anything goes when it comes to making money.
Idaho County drew us because of it's vast beauty, peace and quiet. Well, that is now hogwash in our opinion after we experienced 10 weeks of less than...

Reflections

The crusher left on May 6, 2009, but it will never be forgotten. The hell we went through was unbearable and what we want everyone to understand is that it can come back any time Knife River Corp decides they want to and I am sure that they will have the full blessing of the Republican Idaho goverment. We are still putting up with the back up beeps from the equipment loading the gravel into trucks....and the awful noise at the crusher site where they are still loading gravel. So, all is not peace...

Posted 05-02-2009 at 02:08 AM by bammie21
When they are gone we are going to continue to inform people of the very real hazards of living in Idaho County. The project may have been on the books(with the ITD) for 2 years but Knife River was awarded the contract in August, 2008. They did not know where they were going to get the rock...

Sleep deprivation is torture

Posted 05-02-2009 at 02:06 AM by bammie21
We have learned first hand about sleep deprivation and how torturous it can be. We only are ALLOWED to sleep a full night on weekends. During the week and some weekends we normally get about 3-4 hr sleep a night, sometimes none. They are still crushing and it is almost midnight….probably another all nighter like last night.
The federal government needs to bring back enforcement of the noise laws which are still in effect for this nation. Idaho County, Idaho has NO NOISE LAWS and NO LAND USE

No Change in Idaho County Nightmare

Posted 04-28-2009 at 04:06 PM by bammie21
What can I say that it continues. When it is quiet on the weekends we actually get some good sleep. Monday thru Friday, however, we are only allowed about 4 hours of sleep a night. They are still making noise from before 5 a.m. until midnight or so; running the crusher from at least 5 a.m. until at least 11:30 p.m. and making other noise until after midnight.
The State of Idaho Attorney General refuses to help. I thought that if the local (county) government would not help you that you could...
