The other day, I saw a "wall" update on my SIL's Facebook that said she was depressed and calling for prayers. I sent her an affirmation that she was feeling God's love move to her, and through her, to others.

The next day, she was still depressed. I suggested that what helps me get out of my blues is helping others.

Yesterday, I had a rough day at the office, came home and had a spat with DH (also stressed from his day), and patched things up over a Bigun...

Yesterday I was working at my computer in my cubicle when I sensed the presence of someone standing at a nearby staircase. I glanced over to see my coworker from Inside Sales standing with tears in her eyes, staring at nothing. I asked if she needed to go for a walk, and she just nodded. We went outside.

As we walked, she described a woman's hateful treatment of her on the phone. No matter what my coworker does to try to please her, the woman has a sneering, hateful comment to deride...

The story is that my mother and I parted ways (emotionally) before she delivered me, on May 9, 1956 at 5:30 AM. She'd arranged for my adoption through her doctor, and four days after my birth she walked into the court house in Hastings, Michigan and signed the documents. As far as I know, she never looked back.

As long as I can recall, I've thought of myself as a person. I think of other people as persons, too. I don't care what their color is, what they believe, what language they speak. If they behave like a person, look like a person, and quack like a person, I figure they are a person.

I get that men and women are physically different; for that matter, people in general are physically different. I don't question that women and men respond to situations differently. Again, doesn't everyone?...

My job is pretty demanding -- whose job isn't these days? I am guessing most people would love to have my job, or any job. I'm not complaining. In fact, if I could wish for one thing, it would be that people stop complaining. If a situation can be changed, work for the change, but don't complain along the way. Yes, it might be uncomfortable, but why add to the discomfort by whining?

Just get present, I tell the folks, and deal with what needs to be done right now. Let the projected...
