I didn't know I had the hole in my soul, until a kind message from a well-intentioned friend pointed it out for me. God bless her for her courage, knowing such information is not always well received!

When I looked, I realized I'd always known it was there, but never acknowledged it. It hurt all the worse, for the knowing. Then, as if in a miracle, suddenly overnight it was healed. Like finding a toothache gone, I felt around and found the hole filled.

Obviously, I am Nuts

Posted 07-20-2009 at 03:14 AM by LookinForMayberry

I processed the application for Romeo yesterday morning before we left for Montreal. Soon after arriving, I checked emails, found the shelter had one additional question, and I replied with the answer. Everything was looking good.

As we were setting up "camp" in our new site, I began thinking of how we would need to prepare for Romeo's arrival. He's a larger dog than Ritz -- the description calls him a beagle mix, but I think the mix was a Husky. Suddenly, this 38' RV...

Tomorrow we hit the road for Montreal for a few more days, and then it's back the States.

I studied French in my school days, and had actually become quite fluent. Sadly, those skills seemed to be LONG Gone, our first day in town. I was musing on the injustices of aging.

Then, oddly enough, as we were walking into a post office, some of the old vocabulary started coming back -- and just in time! When we got to the counter, neither woman there spoke English (nor would I...

Loving Our Enemies

Posted 07-17-2009 at 04:06 AM by LookinForMayberry

This came to me yesterday:

While we seek the friendship of people that subscribe to our way of looking at the world -- and trust me I appreciate my friendly friends!, it is our enemies that teach us the most about the world. From whom else can we learn to see the reality of our world, if not those diametrically opposite from our own perspective?

As our greatest teachers, we must love them.

If you've ever heard the story about the Five Wise Men and the Elephant,...
