Update: The Night Shift Is Going Just Fine

Posted 08-29-2009 at 07:23 AM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)
Recently, I had a blog on Case's Column about a big change taking place in my life. My work schedule had undergone changes (that was my choice due to the days off I wanted), and I have to now be up at different hours of the day and night than I was previously accustomed to.

Well, here it is after the very first week I've done this, and I think I'm going to like it.......for now. I don't think I'll want to do this the rest of my life, but at least, there won't...

Here we are once again, with more goodies than you can shake a stick at from the Scattershooting grab bag. So, let's all gather around the computer campfire so that we can toss this proverbial ball around.

********

When I first moved into my apartment in Lewisville, Texas, in 2004, the creek that's behind my complex was a very nice sight when looking at it from the road running adjacent to it. The name of the creek is called Timber Creek, and...

Children falling into piles of scarlet and gold.

Summer herself, falling;
Falling like the glory of a ripening Rome;
Before the barbarian hordes of frost and wind.

My mother called the bruised apples that fell
Beneath the trees, "drops".
She hurried to use them before they spoiled.

"Don't slam that door; I have a cake...
